When to use this procedure: If your flat panel is currently using firmware version lower than v1.0.10 and your attempt to upgrade it via normal FW upload procedure failed multiple times. Please note that this procedure will reset the panel to factory defaults and you’ll need to recalibrate it after the procedure, so use this procedure as last resort.
What you’ll need: Flat Panel 2 Control Panel v1.0.8 or higher (visit Software and documentation page for download), UF2 file – download it here: FP2_v1.0.11.uf2
- Make sure that Flat Panel is closed and disconnected from all control software (SGP, NINA…)
- Open Flat Panel 2 Control Panel and select Flat Panel COM port from the combo box (you can skip COM port selection if the unit is already mounted in drive mode, appearing as “RPI-R2” drive)
- Hold Shift key on your keyboard and press Connect button
- This opens a force firmware upload dialog where you click Upload button and select previously downloaded UF2 file. This will begin the upload procedure.
- After the procedure is finished Flat Panel will reset itself
- Now connect to Flat Panel via Control Panel again and confirm that FW version is v1.0.11
- Click on “Calibration” button and select “Automatic”, to recalibrate the panel
- After calibration is finished verify that all functions of the Flat Panel work normally (opening, closing, light on/off)
