Version 1.0.11 (22.9.2025):
Works for: OFP2, FP2+, FP2, FTL2, WFT2, FT2, upgraded FP1 (board with USB-C)
Summary: This version introduces additional feature that helps with controlling the unwanted light pollution – automatically turning off light after 3 hours (180 minutes) of inactivity. It also brings fixes and improvements for OFP2 units – improved calibration and more powerful opening and closing (especially important on bigger panels). Use with Control Panel v1.0.8 or higher.
Details:
- automatic light off after 3 hours of inactivity – when in remote mode and panel doesn’t receive any commands for 3 hours it automatically turns off the light if it was on. Timer is reset by any remote command – setting the brightness to a new value or opening&closing the panel. This doesn’t in any way change remote mode behavior introduced in previous version – light will still always be off when panel is open.
- automatic light off timer and manual mode timer are now displayed under “General status” in Control Panel
- heater and light are now always unconditionally off when panel is moving – to give maximum available power to the motor
- improved motor handling of OFP2 units when opening and closing – fixes issues with some of the bigger panels having difficulties with not fully closing or not be able to open
- improved calibration of OFP2 units – we still recommend starting calibration in closed position, but calibration can now also succeed in more unfavorable conditions (which might be important if you don’t have physical access to the panel and need to perform the calibration urgently). The motor now also stays engaged after failed calibration, so it may start in a more favorable position and calling calibration for a second time in a row can succeed. Precision of calibration was improved and additional checks for performance of the panel were added. Please note: in normal usage performing the calibration is not needed, as all panels are calibrated in correct conditions at assembly time. If the panel is performing well running the calibration again will not bring any benefits and may even worsen behavior of the panel, so please only perform it if the panel is reporting that it is uncalibrated in Control Panel (“Motor not calibrated” message under “General status”) or we advise you to do so. Please also refrain from using “Reset to factory defaults” unless it is absolutely necessary, as this also resets the calibration – especially if you don’t have physical access to the panel at the time of performing this action.
- fix for OFP2 where it was not possible to close it remotely in some cases when it was opened “by hand” or not fully closed
- fix for OFP2 where some units incorrectly reported opened status, when they were really closed

Version 1.0.10 (13.9.2025):
Works for: OFP2, FP2+, FP2, FTL2, WFT2, FT2, upgraded FP1 (board with USB-C)
Summary: This version introduces new features that help with controlling the unwanted light pollution – mainly preventing that light is on when panel is opened, which is especially important for shared remotely controlled observatories. It also fixes a situation where OFP2 units could get stuck if they moved out of range while not powered. Use with Control Panel v1.0.7 or higher.
Details:
- introduction of control modes:
- Remote control mode – this is the default mode and it means that unit is controlled remotely via USB cable (from Control Panel, ASCOM driver, INDI driver…). In this mode unit never allows that light is on when the panel is opened (light pollution protection on), for example:
- if light is on when panel is closed and receives command to open, it will turn off the light before opening
- if panel is opened and receives command to turn on the light, it will not turn it on
- if panel is closed and light is on and it detects physical opening of the lid (for example hitting an object during movement) it will turn the light off (FP2+ and OFP2 only)
- Manual button control mode – unit enters this mode when physical button on the side of the unit is pressed. It automatically returns back “Remote control mode” when first remote command that changes panel or light status is received or 10 minutes after last button press. In this mode turning on the light is allowed when panel is opened and closed – light pollution protection off.
- ASIAIR control mode – unit is in this mode whenever ASIAIR cable is connected. In this mode light pollution protection is on, so in this manner it behaves the same as in Remote control mode. Note that during ASIAIR control mode physical button is disabled, so manual actions can’t be performed and unit can never enter Manual button control mode.
- Remote control mode – this is the default mode and it means that unit is controlled remotely via USB cable (from Control Panel, ASCOM driver, INDI driver…). In this mode unit never allows that light is on when the panel is opened (light pollution protection on), for example:
- additional “General status” in Control Panel now shows which mode the panel is currently in, if there is an error present and if the light is off due to panel being open (when in Remote control mode)
- status light changes (green LED inside the case):
- when all is normal it now automatically turns off 10 seconds after power on to prevent light pollution
- if there is an error it now flashes for 60 seconds after power on and then turns off – short flash (0.5s): motor not initialized, long flash (1s): motor not calibrated
- if it’s disabled (Control Panel -> Advanced) it never turns on (not even in error situations)
- fix for OFP2 getting stuck – if OFP2 moved out of range while lid was open and it was unpowered (mostly due to gravity on bigger panels) it could cause that the lid got stuck and tried to move in wrong direction. Now it moves in the right direction and fixes positioning on the first move.
- firmware upload fixes – there was a rare case when an unrecognized error was presented to the user, if you are dealing with this situation, you can follow instructions for forced firmware update: click here
- additional information in Debug output – for easier assistance when contacting support
